Tireragan Habitats - The Coast

Parts of the Tireragan coast are so exposed to the Atlantic weather than very little vegetation can ever grow, but as soon as some shelter from the worst is available so does plant and animal life prosper. There are so many gullies, inlets, outcrops and crags that there is also plenty of shelter and the sight of a rowan tree growing out of a small crack in a granite cliff is an indication of nature's tenacity.

Of course the coast harbours a huge amount of sea life from seaweed and kelp to molluscs and fish and the mammals such as seals and otters that feed on them.
